In our graduate programs, you will learn how to teach English as a second language and how languages work. You will gain valuable hands-on experience with research and teaching. You will have the opportunity to take courses in Language Acquisition, Sociolinguistics, Phonology/Phonetics, English Syntax, Historical Linguistics, Language Teaching, and much more.
We offer two graduate programs for individuals interested in entering the field of Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) and Linguistics. Our Master of Arts in TESL and Linguistics is a 32-credit program completed in 4 semesters. Our Graduate Certificate in TESL/TEFL is a 12-credit program that may be completed online or on campus.
For our M.A. students, we offer graduate assistantships with full tuition reimbursement on a competitive basis. M.A. students are also eligible for other graduate student jobs on our campus.
