The Medical Coder is responsible for reviewing medical records to determine if correct

codes were assigned which most accurately describes each documented diagnosis based

of ICD10 methodology in accordance with established CMS and client-specific guidelines

for MRA coding

The Medical Coder will audit and educate coders in Medicare/Medicaid/Commercial/client-

specific coding guidelines

The Medical Coder works in collaboration with coding team to develop plans and materials

that support education and system changes to meet coding goals

This position requires a strong knowledge of diagnostic coding and HCC documentation

requirements.

Medical Records Technician

Position Purpose:

The Medical Records Technician is responsible for retrieving medical records (both paper and electronic forms) from various healthcare facilities on behalf of health plans and other clients for retrospective and prospective reviews such as Commercial, Medicaid, Medicare Risk Adjustment (MRA), Risk Adjustment Data Validation (RADV), Accountable Care Organization (ACO), and Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS).

Responsibilities:

  • Retrieves medical record information from Provider offices and facilities through pulling, breaking down, copying/ scanning, indexing, assembling and uploading medical records into an image data management application

  • Uploads all retrieved charts and applicable forms to company server daily

  • Completes daily productivity and progress log

  • Prepares, receives and submits forms, documentation and correspondences

  • Communicating with medical personnel to confirm scheduled appointments

  • Face to face interaction with medical personnel during onsite provider office and facility visits

  • Additional duties as necessary to meet the obligations of our clients

  • A valid driver’s license and insurance/liability policy in the employee's name is mandatory in

    applicable cities/states when a motor vehicle is necessary for the position. Cities and states this may not apply to: San Francisco, New York, Washington D.C. Management will notify such employees when applicable.

    Basic Requirements:

  • Must have Document Imaging or Scanning experience

  • Minimum 3 years of strong office/customer service administration experience required

  • Some medical terminology

  • Entry level understanding of healthcare administration

Coding Team Lead

Responsibilities:

  • Supervises team of medical coders

  • Production – Including but not limited to Master Audit/Audit

  • Production planning – daily queue management

  • Goal setting, coaching and feedback, performance management

  • Team development and attendance management

  • Assist coders in analyzing/evaluating coding audits

  • Act as a mentor resource for coding team

    Basic Requirements:

    • Certified Coder (CPC, COC, CIC, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT, RHIA)

    • Risk Adjustment (HCC) coding experience

    • Experience in a production-based coding environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Lead or supervisory experience

  • Bachelor’s degree, particularly in healthcare, business, or related field
